KCPL Offers Free Tax Assistance
The Kanawha County Public Library will again offer free tax assistance in 2026. Federal and state forms are available at all KCPL locations and two organizations, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and AARP, will offer in-person tax preparation assistance beginning in February at KCPL’s Main Library in Downtown Charleston.
VITA will provide volunteers on Fridays, beginning February 6th, and AARP on Saturdays, beginning February 7th, at the Main Library. Volunteer tax sessions are available by appointment only. Appointments may be scheduled by visiting the Main Library’s 3rd floor reference desk or by calling (304) 343-4646, extension 1259.
Federal 1040 forms and booklets, as well as West Virginia state tax forms are available at the following KCPL locations:
