Tool Lending Library

KCPL’s Tool Lending Library in our Main Branch is filled with tools you can borrow with your KCPL Library Card! From hammers to cement mixers, the Tool Library is here to help with all those chores around the house and much more.

You can place a hold on an item through our online catalog, or request it in-person at the Charleston Library during open hours (Mondays -Thursdays 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM).

• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• You must have or register for a KCPL card prior to borrowing.
• You must read the Tool Lending Library Policy.
• You must sign the Tool Lending Agreement and Waiver and Indemnification Form and have your West Virginia state or federal ID verified by staff each time you checkout.
• No more than 7 items may be checked out at any one time (limit of 2 power tools and 5 hand tools). Items must be checked out 30 minutes before closing.
• The loan period is 14 days.
• Items cannot be renewed or reserved for a future date.
• Items must be picked up and returned to the Charleston Library only during open hours. Items may not be picked up from the drive-up window.
