The Otis Laury Nutritional Literacy Center offers the community a space that promotes healthy dietary habits and provides information and programs to improve the health and well-being of all West Virginians. Visit the OLNL Center on the Main Library’s 3rd Floor, where you can browse the Center’s OLNL collection, take part in KCPL’s nutritional literacy programs, and learn more about Otis Laury.
Otis Laury is a Charleston area entrepreneur, chef, and artist who has owned and operated several restaurants and catering businesses and has served as executive chef for three West Virginia governors. Otis was named a Distinguished West Virginian by governors Bob Wise and Joe Manchin. Described as “West Virginia’s Renaissance man”, Otis Laury has spent a lifetime mentoring youth about growing, cooking, and serving healthy food. He is also an acclaimed artist, painter, and sculptor.

Cooks and Books is a discussion group that will meet on the second Monday of every other month to share recipes and explore beautiful cookbooks together.
