In 1974, Kanawha County erupted in controversy over the Board of Education's decision to introduce new textbooks. The backlash culminated in tens of thousands of families refusing to send their kids to school, protests where a participant was shot, and even the bombing of an unoccupied classroom. Join us for an evening of discussion around the controversy with people who remember it firsthand.
