Program Description

Event Details

In celebration of Black History Month and America 250, we will be holding a special screening of the Motion Masters documentary "Leon Sullivan: A Principled Man", with a special introduction by Diana Sole.

Reverend Sullivan, born right here in Charleston WV, was a Baptist minister, civil rights leader, and social activist focusing on the creation of job training opportunities for African Americans. His work focused on the principle of "self-help", which provided people with the tools to overcome barriers of poverty and oppression on their own.

Come watch this documentary from the local WV production company Motion Masters to learn more about Reverend Sullivan's life, work, and legacy.
