Program Description

Event Details

Join us for this presentation by Melanie McGee Bianchi, author of The Ballad of Cherrystoke & Other Stories, and award-winning singer-songwriter Pete Kosky. This presentation will include excerpts from Bianchi's book in tandem with performances of new and old traditional music. Learn how the Appalachian tradition of narrative ballads is a living, evolving entity, and not just a relic of the distant past.

Feel free to bring your lunch for this noontime program. Register to receive email notifications about this event.

This program is planned in conjunction with local publisher Blackwater Press. You can find Bianchi's book, published by Blackwater Press, in the KCPL catalog here.
