Join us during Charleston's Celtic Calling weekend with a talk by reenactors of the Jacobite Rebellion, an attempt by Scottish forces to reclaim the British throne.

Reenactor Hunter Cogle represents a Highland Tacksman of Clan MacLachlan, with his wife, Breanna Cogle, as they would appear taking part of the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745, fighting for Prince Charles Edward Stuart. Many men brought their families with them on campaign in the 18th century. Hunter will be discussing clothing, equipment, weapons and tactics, as well as an insight on who the Jacobites were, what their cause was and ultimately what became of them after their collapse and the destruction of the Highland clan system. Breanna will cover the life and role of women in the Highland clan system, her clothing and kit, and her duties as the wife of a tacksman and officer in the army.

The presentation will begin with Hunter, followed by Breanna for the second hour.
