What words come to mind when you think of a person of upstanding character? Honesty? Dedication? Kindness? Courage? Dignity? What people in your life have demonstrated qualities you consider important and admirable?  In this workshop, we will explore what we mean by character, share personal stories of friends and relatives who have inspired us, and contemplate ways in which we can nourish and encourage good character in ourselves and others.  This workshop is for everyone — we’ll do some writing, but you need not be a “writer,” just a human being with a willingness to share and learn.  Colleen Anderson is a writer, songwriter, and graphic designer in Charleston, WV. She has released three albums of original songs, some featured on Mountain Stage and The Folk Sampler. Her children’s chapter book, Missing: Mrs. Cornblossom, won a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award in 2012. In 2016, Finishing Line Press published her poetry chapbook, Bound Stone.

This event is part of our "Building Character at the Library" Series.
