Program Description

Event Details

National Novel Writing Month is an annual writing project that takes place during the month of November. The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Join the challenge and have the chance to win fun prizes along the way!

Earn an engraved pencil from the IDEA Lab at 5,000 words and a sticker from the official NaNoWriMo organization at 25,000 words. Participants who complete 50,000 words may contact the IDEA Lab for an appointment to use the Glowforge to customize their own journal to commemorate their achievement. All supplies for this activity will be provided!

Prizes are available while supplies last and will be kept at the Main Library. Prizes can be sent to other library branches upon request. Email Adult Programming Librarian Amanda Gibson at amanda.gibson@kcpls.org to make arrangements for pick-up after completing qualifying activities.
