St Albans Writes

The Advisory Board, for the St. Albans Branch Library, is proud to present St Albans Writes...a monthly speaker series featuring local authors.  Joseph Bird is a 1974 graduate of St. Albans High School and in 1978 earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture at WVU. He is a Senior Vice President at Chapman Technical Group, an architectural engineering firm located in the historic post office building on Sixth Avenue.  Joe has written for newspapers and magazines and has written several novels and many short stories. In 2004, his first novel, The Counsel of the Ungodly, won first place in the West Virginia Writers competition as well as his most recent novel, Heather Girl. He recently published Carnival Dreams, a collection of short stories and poems.  Joe’s writing can be found at his website, JosephEBird.com.
