Program Description

Event Details

Kanawha County Public Library will participate in the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta with our Storywalk® titled: My River at Magic Island from Thursday, June 30 through Monday, July 4.

Children of all ages can enjoy this story, learning about the creatures that inhabit a river and why rivers are important, by walking along and reading the pages of the book posted along the paths of Magic Island. Storywalks® are a wonderful way to build children’s interest in reading while encouraging healthy activity for both adults and children.

The Storywalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

Join us in the Main Library on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 from 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM in the IDEA Lab to make buttons and experiment with SAM Labs kits, or in the Teen Zone for a Super Smash Bros tournament, Legos and coloring pages.
