Event Details

Join us for a living history presentation featuring artifacts from Fort Warwick, an active archaeological dig site located in Pocahontas County. This presentation will include an interpretation of Captain George Mathews, portrayed by Bob Sheets. Mathews was a militia captain stationed at Fort Warwick, who then became a general in the Revolutionary Army.

Following the portrayal, Sheets will present on the archaeology work being performed at the site and some of the artifacts they have found.

Read more about Fort Warwick at their website.

This presentation is part of the library's Summer Library Club: Unearth A Story programming and our America 250 celebration.
