Summer Library Club 2023

SLC 2023

Welcome to Summer Library Club (SLC) 2023

This year's theme is "All Together Now!"

SLC is an 8 week program (June 1 - July 31) for all ages at all KCPL locations. Designed to be a fun activity for the entire family, the goal of the program is to develop and build literacy skills for young readers while establishing a lifetime love of reading and learning for readers of any age.

Once registered, readers log books, attend events, and complete activities to earn goodies and entries toward Grand Prize drawings awarded at the end of the summer.

Beginning June 1, register on Beanstack or with a paper log available at any location. Used Beanstack before? Use your existing account again! Visit any location for one-on-one assistance.

SLC Daycare Program

Register your daycare group(s) for SLC to earn points and prizes for your summer readers!

The SLC Daycare program has expanded this year! Every reader will receive a duck just for registering.

The daycare contact completes the "Readers!!" list and tracks points earned by the entire group through July 31.

If 20 points or more are earned, KCPL will provide a completion prize for each reader to include:

  • a free book to keep.
  • a pass to attend one Charleston Dirty Birds baseball game for up to 6 family members.
  • an entry into the Grand Prize drawing.

To participate, daycare contacts simply click or scan the QR code to complete the registration form. A KCPL staff member will send info about next steps.
